BBL Forever Clear

Acne is a physical and emotional concern for both adults and children. Current oral medications alone may be ineffective, require waiting time and have potential side effects. At Holcomb-Kreithen Plastic Surgery and Dermatology, we pride ourselves in our multi-therapeutic approach to acne through proven advanced treatments and technologies.

Forever Clear BBL™ (Broad Band Light) is an FDA approved Acne Treatment that uses the speed and power of light energy (Intense Pulsed Light or “IPL”) to comfortably and effectively treat acne without creams or oral medications. Using the Sciton cutting edge BBL, our dermatologist Dr. Shantel Solomon uses the world’s most powerful IPL device in a three step process to target acne to reduce inflammation and speed up healing of the skin. First, Dr. Solomon will use blue BBL light to target acne-causing bacteria deep within the pores. Next, yellow BBL light is used to decrease inflammation and acne-associated redness to allow for faster healing and give you healthier and luminous skin. Finally, we use infra-red light in rapid, gentle pulses to promote collagen production and stimulate the skin’s natural healing process.

What to Expect

Clearer skin in typically just a few short treatments is available through the Forever Clear BBL treatment. A thin layer of gel is applied to your skin prior to the Forever Clear BBL™ treatment which last 20-30 minutes. After the procedure, you may experience temporary swelling for one to two days with minimal to no downtime. In most cases, makeup can be applied immediately. To achieve optimal results with the Forever Clear BBL™, a series of eight weekly treatments is most effective. Depending upon your acne type and severity, you may need touch-up treatments ranging from monthly to semi-annually to stimulate and regenerate your skin cells, leaving you with clear, healthy, and radiant skin.
